Artist Biography

Eric Sexton

Eric Sexton is a third-year BMus student at the TU Dublin Conservatoire, majoring in composition. Since childhood, music has been a constant presence in his life. He began piano at the age of five, moving to the TU Dublin Conservatoire at the age of eight to continue his musical studies. He is currently studying piano under Claire Flynn and organ under Simon Harden. 

Eric frequently participates in masterclasses, receiving tuition from notable figures such as Dr. John O’Conor, Michelle Cann, Paschal Nemirovski, and Peter Donohoe on piano, and David Cassan and Matthias Havinga on organ. He actively performs, recently having been featured as part of TU Dublin’s Lunchtime recital series, and having played in notable venues such as the RDS and the National Concert Hall. Eric is a multiple prize winner in TU Dublin’s in-house competitions and the Feis Ceoil, and was recently a semi-finalist in the Irish Freemasons’ Young Musician of the Year. He has held the position of Organ Scholar in UCD since September of 2025, and was recently an awardee of the 2026 Jones Engineering Award scholarship. He has an interest in a wide variety of styles and particularly enjoys playing contemporary and baroque works.
